Frame loom weaving (Ōtepoti)

27th October, 10am-1.30pm

Experience the wonderful world of weaving in this beginners frame loom workshop. You’ll learn basic techniques for frame loom weaving, along with some extra skills including setting up your own cardboard loom, plain weave, and hemstitch. By the end of your time together, you’ll have some basic skills to keep weaving, and walk away with a wonderful sample piece woven from Aotearoa wool. This craft entails a beautiful repetitive flow. Enjoy the time to slow down and weave together.

Please note:

  • All materials and tools will be provided but feel free to bring your own yarn if you wish.

Workshops will be held at the O Block Hub at Dunedin School of Art Otago Polytechnic on Anzac Ave (entrance beside the Anzac Ave Bridge, parking is available in Minerva street opposite). More detailed information will be provided prior to the workshop.
